Approximately 6500 km from Cameroon, in North Rhine-Westphalia, specifically in Cologne and the surrounding cities, there is a large number of Cameroonians: employees, students, or simply newcomers. They are all members of a community far from their homeland, with a strong sense of belonging.

25 Years of ACR e.V.

The Association of Cameroonians living in the Rhineland (ACR e.V.) turns 25!

Founded in the summer of 1999 and officially registered as an association in July 2000, ACR e.V. will celebrate a quarter of a century serving the Cameroonian community in Cologne and the surrounding area in 2025. To mark this milestone, a series of events will be held throughout the year. For this purpose, a team of dedicated young men and women has been assembled. Details of these activities, to which we warmly invite you, will be shared with you at a later date.

The highlight of the celebration "25 Years - ACR e.V." will take place on July 4th and 5th, 2025. We wish ACR e.V. many more successful years ahead and hope for active and widespread participation. Our goal is to make this anniversary celebration a special moment of connection and exchange between the old and new generations.

25 Years of Existence: A milestone for the Association of Cameroonians living in the Rhineland (ACR e.V.)

We warmly invite you to celebrate this special anniversary with us. Since November 2024, a dedicated team (the Technical Organizing Committee) has been working on this project. The following events are planned:
  • New Year Reception and Kick-off for the Anniversary Celebration (Jan 25, 2025): Reflecting on 2024, celebrating the new year, and launching the 25th anniversary of the association.
  • Children's and Women's Day (Mar 8, 2025): Celebrating International Women's Day, honoring all women (mothers, sisters, daughters, wives, friends, fighters, leaders, inspiring and courageous women) who brighten our community.
  • Bike Tour (May 1, 2025): An exciting ride through Cologne and its surroundings, coming together and enjoying nature.
  • Action Day – Clean City (Jun 19, 2025): A month dedicated to volunteering. This event in a district of Cologne honors the valuable work of our volunteers and expresses gratitude to our host country.
  • Participation in Challenge Camerounais 2025 (Jun 7-8, 2025) in Emsdetten: Since its founding, ACR e.V. has participated annually in the Challenge Camerounais, a sports and cultural festival of Cameroonian associations/communities in Germany.
  • Panel Discussion (Jul 4, 2025): A discussion with experts on a current topic concerning migrant self-organization.
  • Anniversary Football Tournament & Open Air (Jul 5, 2025): Alongside a major football tournament with at least 14 teams, the Open Air event will offer various exciting activities for all ages. Entertainment and fun are guaranteed!
  • Charity Gala Evening (Jul 5, 2025): An evening where charity takes center stage, allowing the association and its friends to showcase their longstanding social commitment.
